Meet our Committees
Committee on Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The Committee on Racial & Ethnic Diversity was created to execute the initiatives developed by the Diversity Committee for the recruitment, retention and promotion of minority attorneys. The Committee is comprised of partners and senior associates from each of the Firm's four main offices, who meet regularly to address diversity and inclusion programs, facilitate program implementation, and measure the Firm's progress toward achieving its diversity goals. The impetus for the Committee's creation was the recognition that our minority attorneys face unique issues and have unique perceptions regarding the workplace, professional development and cultural behaviors of the Firm and its leadership. The Committee is instrumental in developing a defined strategy and methodology for attracting and retaining top diverse talent, providing the Firm's diverse attorneys with opportunities for personal and professional achievement, and raising the profile of Katten as a firm committed to diversity and inclusion.

Minority Associates Committee
In 2003, the minority associates, with the support and assistance of the Diversity Committee, established the Minority Associates Committee. This Committee, comprised of all minority associates of the Firm, meets at least quarterly to discuss mentoring, support and resources necessary for the retention and advancement of our associates of color. The chairpersons of the Minority Associates Committee then meet with the Diversity Committee chairs to discuss a needs assessment and the development of mentoring, educational and career development programming to meet the goals and needs of our minority associates.
