Leslie D. Minier is the Firm’s Chief Diversity Officer, Founder and Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee and serves as a member of the Recruiting Committee.
She is a Partner in Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP’s Corporate Practice and concentrates in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity and general corporate matters, representing clients in a wide variety of industries. She represents both public and private companies in structuring, negotiating and documenting both mergers with, and acquisitions and dispositions of, public and private corporations. She also represents private equity funds making investments in, engaging in leveraged buyouts of, and selling portfolio companies.
Ms. Minier is a member and co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Chicago Bar Association's Alliance for Women, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Joffrey Ballet, the Make A Wish Foundation of Illinois, the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms and the 2008 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellows Class. She is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the National Black MBA Association Inc., the Black Women Lawyers' Association of Greater Chicago, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
Ms. Minier received her Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from Northwestern University School of Law. In addition, she received her Masters in Management from Northwestern University J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1994 and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1988. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tuskegee University in 1987. She is admitted to practice in Illinois. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Minier worked as a Manager in the Data Communication/Technical Planning & Development Group for BellSouth Enterprises.
